HOSTAL BALCON CUBA

Concept
Three people who spent time together in Cuba in 2019 gathered, and whether it was Paparote or carp streamer, Shimenawa or Yarei, or something similar to them, straying, running away, and sometimes meeting With the help of power, we will create one form. The three will be in the exhibition room under various conditions and settings, as if to recreate life in Cuba.
Process
Various materials (Note 1) are scattered in the tea room, and they are used to make one large model (Note 2) together with the visitors throughout the session. The owners of the tea room, Hayashi, Tokumoto, and Matsuhashi, will carry out production and workshops under various conditions (Note 3) related to life in Havana.
(Note 1): There are various items such as "Human" exhibited at "Chikyu no Kodama" and other items that are not necessary for WS at first glance.
(Note 2): Something that is a mixture of shimenawa, carp streamers, and paparote. The specific shape will be decided while making it.
(Note 3): Not in the exhibition room, wearing maternity suits, Spanish-speaking shadow warriors, etc.

How to participate
Preparation: Nothing in particular is needed to participate in the workshop, but, curiosity, proactivity and a spirit of mom-like meddlesome such as willing to clean up a messed room.
The work completed during the workshop will be
exhibited in the Chashitsu; it will not be returned to the participants.
Those who wish to bring it with you will be asked to accept that organizer to photograph the work and to leave something in exchange.
Requests and cautions for visitors
This workshop does not define any actions or objects to be done beforehand. The participants themselves will decide how to deal with the objects and memorandums scattered around the Chashitsu.
*Please do not touch objects hung in the Chashitsu.
*Your cooperation NOT to speak loudly will be highly appreciated.
* The structures of bamboo chashitsu may be fragile and the visitors are asked not to force them to move by hanging or leaning.

Visitors can join the workshop during the exhibition period.
The Artist may not be present at the workshop point.

* Details of each program may be subject to change without notice. In addition, the event at this venue may be canceled if a state of emergency or restrictions on the holding of events is announced by the government or prefectural authorities.
* In order to avoid close contact, we are limiting the number of people who can enter the exhibition. For this reason you may have to wait when crowded.
About the Artist
Naoko Hayashi

Moeko Tokumoto
Born in 1983 in Hyogo. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School with a Doctor's Degree. Her interests are in techniques as clues (yarn feeder), things pulled by those, and shapes of wide dimension formed among people.
Kazuya Matsuhashi
Born in 1993 in Kanagawa. Graduated from Musashino Art University, majoring in textile at College of Art and Design, Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design. Tokumoto enrolled in the Graduate School of Fine Arts of the Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Intermedia Art in 2018. She works and exhibits two or three dimensional works based on textile material and its texhniques developed using sewing machine.

Born in 1999 in Niigata. Currently he studies in the Graduate School of Fine Arts of the Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Intermedia Art. Matsuhashi has completed his study at Diversity on the Arts Project (DOOR) programs as one of the 2nd graduates. He acted as Art Communicator on the occasion of TURN in HAVANA (Cuba) project, 2019.
